Anyone who is a 7th or 8th grade student at Chaparral Elementary School is invited to join our squad.  We cheer for basketball during the first season and football during the second season.  We do have high expectations of our cheerleaders.  This includes not only grades and attitude, but leadership qualities.  Let's face it, the biggest part of the word "cheerleader" is leader!

There are several benefits to becoming a cheerleader at Chaparral. Of course, we learn about the sports we are cheering for.  We also learn about teamwork, cooperation, leadership, and expectations.  We focus on all the pillars of the Character Counts! program as well.  Our cheerleaders learn that how we ACT is more important that how we PERFORM.
